    Sharing is caring!

Chipotle Raspberry BBQ Sauce should be a summer grilling staple!

What’s the easiest way to put your own spin on summer classics like ribs and grilled chicken? Make your own BBQ sauce. This simple step is super customizable and is guaranteed to wow your friends at your next summer feast!

    Ingredients

The base of most bbq sauces is ketchup and apple cider vinegar. for this sauce, you will take those staples and throw in raspberries and chipotle chilies for a sweet and spicy twist. Finish the sauce with lemon for more brightness, paprika for a hint of smoke, brown sugar for a touch of sweetness (which is necessary if you use frozen raspberries), salt, pepper, and some corn starch to help it thicken.

    Instructions

add everything to a food processor, blender, or to a big bowl if you are using an immersion blender. And blend until the ingredients are completely incorporated and the sauce is smooth.

The chipotle raspberry bbq sauce should be runny at this point

To make the bbq sauce thicker, transfer it to a sauce pan and heat over medium heat for 10-15 minutes to let the sauce reduce.

Remove from heat. The sauce will continue to thicken as it cools so do not worry if the sauce still looks runny on the stovetop.

    Storage

Keep this chipotle raspberry BBQ sauce in a sealed container such as a mason jar in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
