    Rosemary Gin Fizz

    Sharing is caring!

Drink seasonally with my favorite Rosemary Gin Cocktail!

Summer cocktails get all the hype. It’s always watermelon this, froze that. Well I am here to inform you that fall cocktails can be just as exciting and equally delicious! Especially this rosemary gin cocktail! This drink has a standard gin fizz base but the addition of rosemary simple syrup, splash of lemon, and egg white to make it frothy and fun take it to the next level.

The key to this drink: Rosemary Simple Syrup

This Rosemary Gin Fizz is so easy to make. The key is to have a killer rosemary simple syrup. I made my own in just 15 minutes, but there are tons of great ones on the market! I’ve received this flight of simple syrups as a gift and have loved every one! The Pear Rosemary Simple Syrup would be divine in this drink, I’ll have to order more before the holiday season!

If making your own, boil equal parts sugar and water in a small sauce pan. Once the sugar has dissolved, add a few sprigs of rosemary in. Lower the heat to medium low and let the rosemary infuse for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let everything sit and cool off for 10 minutes, then store in a heat proof container for up to 1 month.

    Cocktail making with egg whites

This part may seem daunting, but it is incredibly easy and adds a nice creamy layer of froth that takes your cocktail from great to restaurant quality. The trick is to do a dry shake. This means that you shake everything in your cocktail shaker without ice first. All together you will be shaking two times for 30 seconds each.

Finish it off and garnish with rosemary

Once your rosemary gin fizz is all ready to go, serve it over ice, top it off with your favorite sparkling water, and garnish with more rosemary!

    Ingredients

    • 4oz Gin

    • ½oz Lemon Juice;

    • 1oz Rosemary Simple Syrup

    • 1 Egg White

    • Sparkling water to top it off

    • Rosemary sprigs to garnish

    • Rosemary Simple Syrup
    • ½ Cup Sugar

    • ½ Cup Water

    • 4 Sprigs of Rosemary

    Directions

    • If not using a store bought version, start by making your rosemary simple syrup. In a small sauce pan, mix sugar and water over medium heat. Once the sugar has dissolved, add in the rosemary. Stir over medium low heat for 5 minutes, then remove from heat and let the simple syrup seep for 10 minutes. The rosemary simple syrup will keep in a sealed container for 1 month.
    • Pour the gin, lemon juice, rosemary simple syrup, and egg white into a cocktail shaker and shake for 30 seconds. Once the egg white is nice and foamy, add in ice and shake again for 30 more seconds.
    • Add some ice cubes to your favorite glass then pour in your cocktail. Top it off with Sparkling water and garnish with extra rosemary.

This is funky and fresh!!!! This drink is delicious. I had never made a drink using egg whites, but it was the perfect touch. The creaminess of the drink makes it smooth and keeps you wanting more.
